Ann Bolton
Ann was bitten by the coaching bug in 2012 when she obtained her CrossFit L1 certification and began coaching at her local CrossFit affiliate in Pennsylvania. As she got to know the dedicated members who showed up to her early morning classes, she began fielding more and more questions about nutrition and recovery. These questions led her to begin studying and learning more about nutrition fundamentals and how to approach coaching nutrition effectively. In 2015, Ann was offered the opportunity to work at her CrossFit affiliate full-time as a coach and client services manager. This role led her to pursue her OPEX Level 1 Associate Coach certification so she could begin coaching individual clients along with group classes. In 2019, Ann moved to Virginia and started a small business to continue coaching clients in the nutrition and exercise space.
Ann’s passion for coaching stems from building connections that foster trust, empowerment, and open communication with her clients. She understands that each person is unique, and she strives to learn what makes each person tick as well as the joys and obstacles they face day to day. Ann meets her clients where they are and works with them to create a path forward that is both manageable and fulfilling to achieve their goals. Ann believes that small consistent actions taken regularly add up to big results and she loves serving as this gentle and guiding force for her clients.
Now a dedicated student of wellness education, Ann has Precision Nutrition Level 1 and M2 Performance Nutrition Hormone Health certifications and is currently working on completing the Precision Nutrition Sleep, Stress Management and Recovery Coach certification course. In addition, as her own body has begun the perimenopause to menopause journey, she is now on a mission to understand what is happening inside women’s bodies during this time to learn how to work with the change and flourish. Ann enjoys helping other women in this phase of life do the same.
Ann lives in Southwest Virginia with her husband, Matt, and their dog, CoCo. When she’s not coaching, you can find her strength training, walking CoCo, mountain biking, trail running, making delicious food with Matt, and working in fundraising at Virginia Tech.
